The Person Behind Coastal Clarity

My name is Maddy, and I am a registered Developmental Educator with a Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education from Flinders University. I have been working as a DE for the past three years and had the privilege of working as a therapy assistant throughout my university studies, which gave me valuable hands-on experience supporting individuals with diverse needs.

I also have a background in Positive Behaviour Support, which strengthened my understanding of human behaviour and the importance of recognising behaviour as a form of communication. It taught me to look beyond the behaviour itself and better understand what an individual may be trying to express, ensuring support is compassionate, respectful, and responsive to their needs. This has further shaped my person-centred, strengths-based, and neuroaffirming approach to practice.

I am passionate about supporting people of all ages to feel understood, capable, and confident in their everyday lives. I have a particular interest in working alongside autistic individuals experiencing anxiety, social confidence challenges, and burnout—supporting them to better understand themselves, build meaningful friendships, strengthen confidence, and create genuine connections in ways that feel authentic and sustainable for them.
